RSD's Technical Committee have spent many long hours producing the 2003 version of the IOM Class Rules and I would like to personally thank them on your behalf for this work. The new CR will come into force on May 15th 2003. No boats should be put out of class by these new rules. The object of this rewrite is to clarify various points of difficulty that have been found since the last version, which is approximately one year old. Quoting from the introduction: "The rules in Part II and III are closed class rules which means that anything not specifically permitted is prohibited." If you have any doubt whatsoever about the legality of any new way of improving the speed of your boat, please consult a measurer. |
